Birthday's just haven't been the same for me since we moved to Taylor. It really makes me miss my sisters; we'd be going to lunch in beautiful spring weather, to a delicious restaurant that doesn't get their fries from Costco. Sherry would be the only one to arrive on time, and we'd get dirty looks from the people seated around us because we tend to laugh a little too loud!

That being said, I awoke to the aroma of bacon and blueberry pancakes this morning. My favorite!! Jason impressed me so much because I knew we didn't have those ingredients in the house, he actually ran to the grocery store for all of the breakfast goodness last night! My sister-in-law surprised me with my favorite Sonic drink, I spent way too much time on the phone and computer, and I didn't change out of my pajama pants until 2:30 p.m.! How's that for partying!

We didn't know how late Jason would be working, so we made going out plans for Saturday evening, instead. However, there was an adult ward party scheduled for tonight, which isn't how I dreamed I'd be spending the evening of the big 3-0! I swallowed my pride and we decided to go and support the activity, which we were glad we did. I was prepared though! You see, some church members here feel that good hygiene in the kitchen and washing hands before food preparation is unnecessary. Maybe they assume that that sort of thing is taken care of in the blessing of the food?? We've had the unfortunate experience of learning the hard way, on two ward occasions. So off we went this evening, complete with my own pot of chili, corn bread, and eating utensils stored in my purse!
