Meet Misty

My friend Tana made a post on facebook asking if anyone wanted her daughter's horse. I left a comment saying we'd love her. She called me a little while later and told me all about her. Our new pet arrived the next day and Brooklyn couldn't be happier! Brooklyn still tears up when you bring up Star's passing last October, so you can just imagine what her reaction was to this! Misty's a thoroughbred, and she's quite larger than Star was. She's so sweet and has been wonderful with the kids. She's neck and leg reigned, so Brooklyn can get on her with a halter and reigns, no bit, and Misty goes where Brooklyn wants. It's great!
Brooklyn had been saving money since Christmas. The horse was free, so we told Brooklyn that if she wanted the horse to be hers, she would have to pay for the feed. She didn't even blink! She grabbed her money box and spent $50 on hay without a mutter.
We feel very grateful for getting such a horse, and nothing can replace seeing your little girl that happy! I just have to remind myself about that when it's time to pay for horseshoeing and mouth care!
