Jason can fix just about anything. Because of this, friends like to give us broken things. Sometimes this means people give us junk, other times it's like hitting the jackpot. This is one of the "lost treasures" that was sent our way a couple of years ago. A friend of Jason's runs a towing company in Lakeside. He asked Jason if he wanted it, Jason asked me if I wanted a free military truck. In my mind I was picturing a jeep-like thing from the T.V. show MASH. So I said yes, but keep it at the back of the property. When he pulled up in this 1962 two 2 1/2 ton monster with ten wheels, I was a little shocked. It had been used by a home moving company and abandoned when they went out of business. Probably because it gets less than 6 miles to the gallon. When Jason drove it home, the brakes went out right as he hit Main street in town. He was able to get it home without hitting anyone. We consider that one of many little miracles in our life! Caleb has really enjoyed going on drives in it. Jason will take the kids on little adventures just south of the neighborhood. One of Caleb's favorite moments in it was when his buddy Dekon got to go for a ride too! The kids have used it as a jungle gym, another safety mom moment! It's for sale on Craigslist, but as soon as people learn where Taylor is, they hang up! Maybe it's just meant to stay in the family.
