We have a beautiful artificial tree that we got when we moved to Taylor, but this year we decided to shake things up a bit. My thoughts were, "We live just a few miles from the forest, lets get a real tree." We bought the permit back in November, before knowing that Jason would be in Mesa for virtually the entire month of December! He came up for a day to work at Show Low airport, and calls me at 2 in the afternoon, "Can you get the kids ready?" Knowing this was our only shot, I sprang into action. We had the best three hours as a family! It was freezing cold and a huge storm was rolling in, but that didn't seem to phase the kids. We went to Green's Peak where we've camped before, and found so many beautiful trees, it was hard to choose. Caleb had the privilege of carrying our old rusty saw, he was so proud and had to stop and saw at everything!
