Catching horny toads is a daily occurrence at our house from spring until fall. Emily's been snatching them since she was barely two, and has recently learned that yes, they do bite, and their arms rip off if you try to "swing-flip" them. A couple of weeks ago, we were rushing out the door for something and I didn't realize that Emmers was carrying a "friend" when I buckled her in. It was only when we pulled back in the driveway an hour later that Emily told us she dropped her horny toad. We SEARCHED the car and could not find it anywhere. Fast forward six days................Brooklyn went to put something in the back of the Burb and came running in with the horny toad that had been MIA. And yes, it was still alive. I guess if the little critters can't find ants to eat, crumbs from Sonic tots will suffice!
