Emily and I had been outside watering trees. The weather has been beautiful and the best part......no more wind! Well, it's breezy, but not Taylor windy! I went inside for a drink and to check my email. I hear Emmers come in the back door saying, "Mom I caught a howny toad!" After the frog incident last summer, I ran out of my room as fast as I could to see what she was up too. She already had it in a jar and was telling me it's name was Horny. I suggested a few other names, but she wasn't convinced. So Horny it was. This is her biggest catch yet and it's absolutely hilarious the way she nabs the little critters! She played in the sandbox with her new friend and filled his jar with water so he could swim. Emily said that made him dead, so she warmed him up in the sun. She showed Horny to the baby kittens, and asked if I could push them in the swing. It was love! After a few hours, Horny was set free to go back to his mom and dad. He hopped away when he realized the "playtime" was really over.
The next day I witnessed Emily's hunting methods. She gets the hose and walks to a cluster of tall grass and weeds, then sprays away. She waits to see what is running from her sea of carnage, and then goes for the catch! We're so proud!!!
