Piano Recital

Tonight was my annual piano recital for my students. There were only 10 this year, including Brooklyn, which gave enough time for each kid to play 2 songs. It's a lot of work getting the house ready. We (Jason) clear out all the furniture, move the piano and fill the room with chairs borrowed from the church building. Afterwards everything has to be put back together. I was disappointed that more of the kids didn't get there songs memorized this year, but there wasn't any playing disasters either, so overall it went well. Brooklyn memorized her songs and did a great job. I think I'll be sending her to another teacher next month. Teaching my own daughter just hasn't worked out well. I can already tell she has a natural ability for it, but it's just too easy to forget her lesson time or call it good after just 8 minutes. I know she has lots of potential in her little fingers, so I feel guilty! Seeing that there's an average of 2 piano players per ward up here just drives home the fact that my children need to learn how to play. Here's to the building up of Zion!
