Cankles

The photo does not do these cankles justice. These humdingers belong to my nephew Danny (age 22). He's my buddy and I love him and his wife, Ashley. For the past 10 months or so, Danny just seemed to be gaining weight very fast. Long story short....diabetes....sky high blood pressure.....extremely swollen legs.....potassium levels so low they would render an average person dead....Danny ended up in ICU for several days while doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with him. It should be featured on Mystery Diagnosis on Discovery Health Channel. Danny was finally diagnosed with Cushings Disease. It's rare for his age and is very serious. A brain tumor on his pituitary gland is the source of all the evil. He will have the brain surgery in a few weeks. They'll get to the tumor by going thru the front of his face, it's supposed to be less invasive to important brain parts , or something! Cindy said that when I took this picture, his ankles were actually looking quite well. I think we should call them mankles.
